Many people prefer to add a background image to their presentation to make it look more appealing. However, you might want to personalize the background to make your message clearer. To help you do this, let’s look at how to change the PowerPoint background color.
Changing the Background Image
First, you can modify the image that will be displayed in the presentation. To do this, click on the slide you want to change. Then move to the design tab. On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see an option called Format Background.
When you select the Format Background option, you will be presented with a range of options. In this case, you should choose Picture From File. This option will allow you to insert an image that you have stored on your computer. Alternatively, you can choose to use a picture from the internet. Once selected, you will be able to access a range of options.
When you put in an image, you might want to control how transparent it is. Adjusting transparency will allow you to make sure that it looks the way you want it. Also, you can control how many slides to which the background applies. You can use the Apply to All Setting to use it throughout the whole presentation, or choose to use it on just one slide.
Changing the Background Color
You can also choose to customize the PowerPoint by changing the background colors. The best way to do this is to click on the Format Background option. Then, you can choose to apply a solid fill. This option will bring up a range of color choices.
Once you are happy with your selection, you can choose to apply it to all the slides in your presentation by selecting the Apply to All button.
After you have made the necessary changes, you can opt to save the theme. Saving will make it easier for you to use it for future presentations. To save, go to the Design tab, click on the double arrow in the Themes tab. This tab will present a range of options, at the bottom should be the choice to Save Current Theme.
Changing an Existing Theme
There are multiple background styles PowerPoint that comes pre-installed. You can find these in the Design tab. If you want to customize one of these themes, you can consider one of the options in the Variants section, to the right-hand side of the Design tab.
